Chat Commands & Emotes

This page contains a list of all the available chat commands and emotes that can be used to add expression to your conversations. Like with all other KI-commands, the chat-commands all start with a forward-slash (/).

There is also a PDF file from Tiran containing most of these commands on a single page: Tiran's KI commands list.

Chat Commands

Selecting People To Talk To

Besides the commands listed here, you can also select people or groups of people to talk to with your mouse. However, when you are in an Age with a lot of people, the KI will jump to another person than the one you selected from time to time.

/p [name] [message]
Send a message to a single player. (private message or pm) This player should be in the same Age as you are or be on your buddy list. Also, the name is case-sensitive.
Example: /p PodHopper Shorah
/buddies [message]
Send a message to all players on your buddy list.
Example: /buddies hi everyone
/neighbors [message]
Send a message to all players on your neighbor list.
Example: /neighbors hi everyone
/reply [message]
Send a message to the most recent player that sent you a (private) message.
Example: /reply Thank you
/shout [message]
Send a message to all players that are in the same Age as you are. (Without '/shout' only the people that are closeby will hear your message.)
Example: /shout Can anyone hear me?
/autoshout
Enables or disables shouting. (Toggle) Often used during door-runs to make sure everything you say is heard by everyone. A message will be displayed telling you that autoshout was enabled or disabled.
Example: /autoshout

Adding Buddies

/addbuddy [KI-number or Player-name]
Add a player to your buddy list. KI-numbers can be entered without the leading zeros. When entering a player name, only players that are in the same Age as you are can be used.
Example: /addbuddy 32319
/removebuddy [KI-number or Player-name]
Remove a player from your buddy list. KI-numbers can be entered without the leading zeros. When entering a player name, only players that are in the same Age as you are can be used.
Example: /removebuddy 32319

Ignoring People

Ignoring people is not something I recommend doing. However, there may be situations where it can be useful.

/ignore [KI-number or Player-name]
You will no longer receive messages from people that you put on your ignore list. KI-numbers can be entered without the leading zeros. When entering a player name, only players that are in the same Age as you are can be used.
Example: /ignore 32319
/unignore [KI-number or Player-name]
Remove a player from your ignore list. KI-numbers can be entered without the leading zeros. When entering a player name, only players that are in the same Age as you are can be used. After this command has been given you will once again receive messages from this player.
Example: /unignore 32319

A Few Other Commands

/afk
This command stands for 'Away From Keyboard'. It is used to let other people know that you are temporarily unavailable. For example if you need to feed your cat or dog.
Example: /afk
/me [message]
Send a message to everyone that is closeby in the same Age as you are. '/me' will be replaced by your avatar's name. Useful to make a special sentence like 'PodHopper is making some tea...'.
Example: /me is making some tea...
/clearchat
Clears all chat messages from your screen. However, it does not prevent new messages from appearing.
Example: /clearchat
/startlog
Starts logging all chat messages to a text file in the log subdirectory.
Example: /startlog
/stoplog
Stops logging all chat messages to a text file in the log subdirectory.
Example: /stoplog

There are a few more commands that are hardly used by most people. These are actually regular KI-commands and are not related to chatting with others. These commands are: '/sendinvite', '/savecolums' and '/loadcolums'.

Emotes

Emotes are a collection of gestures and actions that you can use in a similar way as that smilies are being used. They can for example emphasize what you are talking about. Each emote has a description at the bottom of the table, showing the emote command followed by the text that is printed on your screen when you use them. In the game, the word 'Player' is replaced by your avatar name.

Minasunda made a video of the emotes, showing exactly what your avatar does when you use them:

Feather Commands

The feather-commands are a set of commands related to collecting "feathers". Feathers are invisible items that can be found in a number of Ages. Many can be found in Ages that have birds. However, you won't get new Bahro rings on Relto, there's no reward for collecting the feathers.

/look in pocket
See what you have collected so far. If you have not collected any feathers yet, it will tell you that you only have flint in your pocket.
/get feather
The command to collect a feather in an Age. (There's also the command '/get feathers'. However, it seems that command was changed recently. It used to give you the 7 plain feathers all at once, but now it will only give you one feather at a time when used in the right Age.)

Feather Locations

For many years, 13 was the total number of feathers in Moul(a). Now that new Ages have arrived, new feathers have been added. Currently, there are 17 feathers total in Moul(a).

As for the locations of the feathers, remember that collecting the feathers can only be done in a specific order:

1-7 Eder Gira 7 Plain Feathers
8 Eder Delin 1 Red Feather
 9 Dereno 1 Blue Feather
10 Payiferen 1 Black Feather
11 Er'cana 1 Silver Feather
12 Jalak Dador 1 Duck Feather
13 Ahnonay 1 Rukh Feather
14 New Messenger's Pub1 Yellow Feather
15 Chiso Preniv 1 Raven Feather
16 Veelay Tsahvahn 1 Dove Feather
17 Eder Naybree 1 Green Feather

Other Commands

/deletefolder
Delete a folder in your KI. Any folder listed below Inbox can be deleted. To use it you first type: /deletefolder followed by the exact name of the folder you want to delete. This command is very useful when you have just too many Age locations listed in the Incoming box/folder, just make sure there is not anything you want to keep in them before they are deleted.
Example: /deletefolder Tetsonot
/look
Using this command will tell you if there is anyone nearby in the Age. It will also tell you that there are exits and in which direction. However, the latter does not seem to be meaningful or even true, as it will tell you for example that the Payiferen pod has two exits, while in fact there are none. (Unless using bot commands or an internal client.)
Example: /look
/get [object]
Replace [object] with anything (penguin, rock, etc.) and see if you can lift it.
Example: /get rock
/go [anyplace]
Type this without any options and it will tell you to put one feet in front of the other... You can optionally type something behind '/go', like '/go home', but the result will be the same.
Example: /go home
/fly
In the past I used to group this command with the feather commands. However, as it does not do anything in regard to collecting feathers or the feathers that you already collected, I decided to move it here under "Other Commands".
Example: /fly
/roll
Roll a die and get the result printed on screen. Not extremely useful unless you happen to have lost the dice of your favorite board game...
Example: /roll
/roll xdy
Similar as the previous one but with the ability to use multiple dice and more sides on each die. The x represents the number of dice (1-10) and y represents the number of sides on each die (1-100).
Example: /roll 3d8
/roll fate
In a way, similar to the previous one except that it gives numerical fate values that I'm unfamiliar with.
Example: /roll fate
