Hints & Tips

Instant Pellets

Note: The following trick no longer works in Moula as of the Q3-update in 2023. It changed how the ovens in Er'cana work. The game no longer uses local (PC) time to calculate how long the ovens have been operational.

Making pellets in Er'cana takes time. The first slider on each oven determines how long the process will take. In my Er'cana guide I explained that each thin line on that slider corresponds with 6 minutes, whereas each thick line corresponds with 30 minutes. There are several combinations that will produce the desired orange glow when the pellet is dropped in the Silo. For most combinations you will have to wait a few hours before the baking process is finished. However, time is relative and the following trick will save you from a long wait...

For this to work you will need to be alone while in Er'cana.

1. Make sure the pellet machine in the last room is empty. You can drop leftover pellets in the silo or use the lever to the left to discard them. After dropping the last pellet, you start the ovens again by pressing that yellow button on one of the 4 viewers.

2. Enter your Computer System's Controls and select Adjust Date/Time.

3. Advance the calendar one day, and that will complete the baking. You should hear when the ovens finish by hearing 4 clicking sounds.

4. Be sure to set the calendar back to the current date.

Enjoy your Instant Pellets!

Clearing an Imager

Imagers on your Relto and in your Neighborhood (Bevin) can be cleared. You can only clear a Hood Imager if you are a member of the Hood the Imager is in. Unless you are the sole inhabitant of that Hood, better check if your neighbors agree with wiping the Hood Imager. Angry neighbors are never a good thing.

To clear an Imager, you need to send a KI message to the Imager. Walk up to the Imager so that it will read your KI. Open your KI and click on the golden book in the center or use the F6 shortcut to start a new KI Message.

Erase where it says <enter title>, do not put a title to the message. Erase where it says <enter text> and now type cleardaImager, (no spacing or punctuation and use a capital i). Now select Devices from the list at the left (Age Players, Buddies, Neighbors and Devices),. Now click on the Imager you want to clear: D'ni Imager Left (will only work in your Bevin or Hood) or (while at your Relto) PersonalImager.

After you select the Imager, you will see that you can now send a message as you would a picture. Send the message to the Imager. As the imager cycles through the last picture, the Imager will go blank and now the Imager is successfully cleared.

Deleting a KI Folder

Any folder listed below Inbox can be deleted from your KI. Use the KI-command /deletefolder for this.

To use it you first type: /deletefolder followed by the exact name of the folder you want to delete. This command is very useful when you have just too many Age locations listed in the Incoming box/folder, just make sure there is not anything you want to keep in them before they are deleted!

Manuals & Other Documents

These documents were found on the Myst Online forums. Although the second document is a walkthrough, it's just not how I would write a walkthrough. Those looking for a walkthrough, I recommend the Youtube video from Sven Groot, also known as Dilandau3000. He loves the sound of his voice a little too much in my opinion, and he mixes up Eder Delin and Eder Tsogal a few times, but other than that it's an excellent walkthrough: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=sjnA7UrTCag&list=PL82059B645037C768&index=2

The pictures in de last 2 documents are small and a bit dark, but the original pictures are available at the MystOnline forum: http://mystonline.com/forums/viewtopic.php?f=41&t=25306 The first page has the photobucket logo all over the images, but the images on the other pages are without that stupid photobucket logo.
