Cone Race is an annual event that takes place in PodHopper's Hood in August each year. This page serves as the main source of information about the event. Here you will find how it is done, what you need to do to prepare and the results of previous contests.
Cone Race takes place around the fountain in PodHopper's Hood. In the first year it was held, players had only 1 minute time to complete a single round. Starting from 2023, players have 2 minutes time to complete each round.
Cone Race is played in 2 rounds. The objective is to bring as many cones as you can into the fountain in 2 minutes.
In the first round players start in the passage leading to the linking book room. After all players have finished, the second round starts at the balcony with the telescope.
The result of each round is added together to give the player's total score and the player who has brought most cones into the fountain wins.
Players are allowed to re-arrange the cones any way they like before the timer starts, as long as none of the cones cross the stairs.
When is a cone considered "in the fountain"? Only cones that are in the water will count. Resting on the border of the fountain (without touching the water) does not count.
Iwonk made the following Cone Race Tutorial video with lots of hints and tips of her own:
During the contest, PodHopper's Hood will be a private Hood. This is to prevent people from linking in while the contest is in progress. People who arrive after the contest starts should contact me or someone already present so I can open the Hood for you.
